Executives of TeleDevelopment Services will be among the moderators of the upcoming Healthcare Information Management System (HIMS) Conference 2017. They are CEO Jon Kaplan and COO Judy Whisenhunt, also the president of WeRK.ph.
Spearheaded by the Healthcare Information Management Association of the Philippines (HIMAP), the conference is the country’s premier gathering for the healthcare information management industry. With the theme Unlocking Opportunities, Embracing Change, Himscon 2017 will be held at the SMX Convention Center on October 25.
Organizers said the conference is the must-attend event for industry players, healthcare professionals, vendors, and regulators. It also aims to attract healthcare information stakeholders looking for learning, networking, and business opportunities.
To build a sustainable ecosystem supporting the HIM sector, HIMAP said it has tapped the industry’s foremost experts, top healthcare professionals and clinical players. Further, HIMAP said it has also tapped the academe and an international network of associations to support the sector.
Mr. Kaplan is the Founder and President of TeleDevelopment, a pioneer in providing consulting services and solutions to the world’s biggest companies. TeleDevelopment has helped these companies in outsourcing and offshoring for the last 25 years.
Among his roles as CEO of TeleDevelopment are initiating partnerships, generating new businesses, and shaping company culture.
Throughout his early outsourcing career since 1979, Mr. Kaplan has managed call center operations for BF Goodrich and General Motors.
In 1995-1996, Mr. Kaplan was National President of the American Teleservices Association (ATA). He has served on the ATA executive board for six years, helping to shape the future of the Contact Center industry.
Furthermore, he is a recipient of numerous industry awards, including two ATA Telo Awards for Excellence in Telemarketing. Also, he garnered an award for Customer Contact Excellence from Customer Interface magazine. In 1999, Call Center Magazine named Mr. Kaplan an Industry Pioneer of the Year.
Ms. Whisenhunt has been in the corporate world for more than 30 years. She started working in the fields of accounting, auditing, and eventually moving to finance and treasury administration.
Currently a member of the HIMAP Board of Trustees, she was first elected as Corporate Secretary in 2014. Since 2015, Ms. Whisenhunt has been HIMAP Board Treasurer since she was elected the following year, concurrently with her position as chair of its Membership Committee.
Moreover, she is the Treasurer of the Philippine chapter of the American Association of Professional Coders (AAPC). She is also a member of the Healthcare Information Management System Society (HIMSS) Portland (Oregon) US Chapter.
Add to this, she is a member of the Philippine Management Association of the Philippines (PMAP) and of the Legislative Committee of the Information Technology and Business Process Association of the Philippines (IBPAP).
Aside from being TeleDevelopment COO, she is also President of WeRK.ph. Formerly known as BPOCareerHub.com, WeRK.ph is a multi-platform online job portal, digital recruitment, and digital marketing company.
