The summit entitled Getting Future Ready was attended by the most prominent names in both the academe and the IT-BPM Industries.
The event facilitated the discussion on the challenges and solutions to salient issue revolving around the arena of hiring talents. Vincent Fabella, President of Jose Rizal University presented on Day 2 the initiatives of universities in coping up with industry requirements. Curriculum and teaching materials are constantly being updated to conform with standards and faculty members are undergoing various relevant training.
The role of students is integral in achieving the goal of uniting the academe and the industries. Their preparedness is key in strengthening the country’s global competitiveness. As such, the discussion allowed for members of the student populace to articulate their needs in attaining this endeavor. Among the points raised was the institutionalization of set courses that would run in parallel with industry standards.
One of the most talked about topics during the summit was Gamification – integrating the concept of game and play in proliferating engagement through various platforms. In the advent of the digital age, everything is geared towards user experience, in the same light, convenience is paired with “playability.”
