Cybersecurity, data privacy, and other information and communications technology issues will take center stage in the upcoming National ICT Summit 2018.
The summit on June 21-22 in Davao City will also tackle national initiatives on e-government and the national ID system. It will have the theme “Empowering the Filipino through Digital Transformation.”
Moreover, it will be a venue for information sharing, presentation and discussion of programs, initiatives, policies, and innovative solutions.
In particular, the summit will serve as a venue for the resolution of ICT issues and concerns, the Philippine News Agency reported.
Meanwhile, it will empower government ICT executives, managers, and policymakers to support and implement the national infrastructure program.
Malacañang Palace enjoined government agencies, ICT executives, chief information officers, technical staff, academics, and key personnel to attend the summit .
Representatives of the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) will discuss inclusivity in ICT and digital consumer protection.
DICT aims to ensure and protect the rights and welfare of consumers and business users relative to ICT. With this, the department will also soon conduct the 1st National Digital Consumer Conference.
