Around 200 university students recently discovered there were larger opportunities in the world of healthcare information management systems (HIMS).
Taking up nursing, physical therapy, and medical technology courses, the students learned this during the recent HIMS 101 Career Fair.
Specifically, participants included students from Trinity University of Asia (TUA) Quezon City, Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila (PLM) and Far Eastern University (FEU) in the City of Manila, and the University of the Philippines (UP) Manila campus.
Organizers include the Healthcare Information Management Association of the Philippines (HIMAP), marketing firm NGP, and WeRK.ph. It was held last 25 October 2017 at the SMX Convention in SM Aura, Bonifacio Global City, Taguig.
Simultaneously, organizers held the career fair with the 2017 edition of Himscon, the country’s premier gathering for the HIMS industry. In particular, the theme this year is Unlocking Opportunities, Embracing Change.
Specifically, the career fair focused on students in universities offering courses akin to the healthcare sector.
Moreover, the conference highlighted networking and business opportunities for industry players, medical coding and healthcare professionals, vendors, academe and government stakeholders.
Executives and representatives from TeleDevelopment also presented during the Himscon career fair and conference discussions.
Aside from medical billing, the company offers medical coding training with official license from the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC).
Medical coding graduates get Certified Professional Coder (CPC) license, as well a recognition and privilege to apply as a certified coder anywhere in the world.
