Workers to Get CAMP-TUPAD Cash Benefit

Amid the coronavirus pandemic and enhanced community quarantine, the Department of Labor and Employment has allotted at least P5,000 each for Philippine workers subject to certain conditions.

The DoLE will allocate P1.3-billion for about 250,000 workers under the COVID Adjustment Measures Program (CAMP). Meanwhile, the department will allocate P180-million for some 18,000 informal sector workers under the Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers (TUPAD) emergency employment program.

More details of the labor program during a March 26 webinar of the People Management Association of the Philippines (PMAP) together with DoLE Labor Policy Reforms and Industrial Relations Committee (LPIR) Committees, to address questions about the pronouncement for the Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ).


According to DoLE, private establishments providing basic necessities and activities, business process outsourcing (BPO) and export-oriented industries, are exemptions.

They may continue their operations as long as they adhere to stringent social distancing, and implementation of skeletal workforce. DoLE also encouraged BPO companies to give temporary accommodation arrangements to their workers.

The PMAP-LPRIR also discussed flexible work arrangements, including reduction of workhours and/or workdays, workforce rotation and forced leaves.
